[SOLVED] COmmand And Conquer 3

hey. i recently bought Command And Conquer 3, Tiberium Wars Kane Edition for my pc. i have more than the minimum requirements that is needed to run the game. however, when i put all the graphics on max, the game stutters and takes a long time to load, the game only works on its lowest graphics. i have a 256mb nvidia geforce fx 5600 graphics card, a 3.2ghz processor, 1.75gb ram, so i don't see what the problem is. could it be due to drivers? if anyone can help then please do =] thanks =]

Re: COmmand And Conquer 3

Im not a member of staff here or anything but..

Meeting the minimum requirements for a game does not mean that you can play it on Max Settings. These are the requirements for the game to run at all. The Recommended Requirements are the requirements that are recommended by the game manufacturer, that should mean that you can run the game comfortably, however, meeting these requirements does not mean that you can play a game on max settings, either.

Hope that helped, and feel free to wait for a member of staff here to reply, so you don't have to take my work for it :)

Excellent post StromTroop. Indeed, I have an Intel C2D E6600, 3Gb DDR2 800 RAM and an 8800GTX (OC) and the game still judders a bit when there are a lot of units on-screen.

Re: COmmand And Conquer 3

To get the game to run on max settings you're going to need to upgrade your graphics card to something quite a bit more powerful.

C&C 3 engine relies more on your graphics card and ram rather than your CPU. Because of this your 5600 is defintely stalling it up.

I'm assuming you have an AGP slot in your motherboard and no PCI Express slot.

You could get something decent like this:

I have that card currently I can play most of today's games on medium to high depending on the game.

Re: COmmand And Conquer 3

My name is Brandon and my parents bought C&C3 for me on PC for Christmas. I tried to play it on my brother's brand new desktop computer. The game uploaded and seemed to be working fine up until i started playing it. His min requirements were more than enough to play the game, and it worked exactly fine for exactly 5mins. No matter what mode I go into or game settings, it will work for only 5 mins then the whole window closes out and says that it encountered an error. So later i tried it on two other desktop computer's that met the min requirements. They did the exact same thing. So I went to the store and exchanged for another game disk. Came home and tried it on the sec. and third computers again, but still the same thing. What could cause this?

Yeah, I guess its just because most of my experience with this forum has been the Hijack This forum, where, I think, advice from non-staff members should be treated with caution
