GoW Issue
Hey all,
I just recently bought GoW, but like a lot of other people I'm having a slight problem, and it really doesn't even have to do with gameplay. Actually, I haven't even had a chance to play the game yet, the problem is that as soon as I open GoW and it gets to the main menu screen there is a HUGE slow down, it takes a while to even try to get into Options and change around my video options (I've tried reducing everything, I tried changing my resolution etc..), nothing has worked. Again, gameplay isn't the issue for me right now, it's actually getting through the menu screen. Also I noticed that as soon as I run GoW my CPU usage goes up to 100%. Here are my specs. Vista Home Premium (32 Bit) AMD Turion 64x mobile techonology (2 cpus), 1.9 GHz 2 gigs of Ram Nvidia GeForce 7150m/ nforce 630m I'm hoping I'd be able to run GoW at it's minimum. Any help at all is apperciated! |

Re: GoW Issue
Its probably your hardware as the culprit. A lot of times the "minimum" requirements are a joke. Check out this website and see what they say about your pc.
It does use Active X to scan your system components. http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest |

Re: GoW Issue
Thanks man, that website is wicked
..thing is..it says "Congratulations, your computer exceeds the minimum specification required to run this game.", and the little meter on top goes well past the minimum and near the "fast" symbol..which has me sort of confused?!? It says I passed all the hardware specifications, and I've done the driver updates for the most part. I'm running on an HP Pavilion dv6000..I think I might have made the wrong choice with picking up this machine. Thanks for the help! |

Re: GoW Issue
To put it simply laptops aren't meant for gaming. The chip you have in there will barely run GoW if it runs it at all.

Re: GoW Issue
Yeah, that can't be right. Your CPU is barely fast enough to handle that game at all. I'm going to have to pass this one to your CPU as the culprit 100%.
As stated above laptops just aren't fast enough to handle the latest games as of yet. Mostly due to the fact that there is really no heat solution for laptops. Thus they can't have that powerful of hardware inside them without excessively overheating. |
