Graphics tweaking utilities never seem to save custom settings..

Why is it that every grahpics tweaking utility i've used for the past half decade (including ati tray tools, riva tuner, catalyst control center and even the nvidia control panel) never seem to save your custom settings?

The global settings seem to always stay where I set them, but if I ever try to configure settings for a particular game (because some games need certain options turned on or off depending on the game) it just never saves my configurations. No matter if you save your settings or not, as soon as you exit the utility or restart your computer the custom settings are always back to default again. And this isn't just one machine either, this has been on several machines, on several different video cards from both ATI and Nvidia, on tons of different driver sets over the course of 6 years or so....and it's the same damn story every time.

If the feature isn't going to work then why the hell do they even implement it into the drivers to begin with?

Some of these companies need to stop slacking and make their **** actually work... =O

Re: Graphics tweaking utilities never seem to save custom settings..

In all honesty I've never had a problem like the one you're describing. I've used plenty of cards using ATI and nVidia chips and made a myriad of changes to their respective software with changes always remaining intact. I used RivaTuner to unlock pipelines on an old 6800 and Omega Drivers to unlock a 9800se. Each time they'd give the desired effect until I chose to do otherwise.
