[SOLVED] screen resolution
I am told that it is important to mantain the same screen resolution via desktop and in game .In other words do I have to keep my desktop at the same resolution as the games I am playnig or is it ok to leave the high res on my desktop and play the games in a diferent resolution because of the fact most of the games I am playing do not go as high as my desktop.I have been switchiing my desktop back and forth and it is starting to get old and not seeming to make a diferance.Am I doing any harm to my PC by just leaving my desktop were I want it and playing the games at the resolution they allow( Desktop 1680-1050)most of my games 1280-1050 or less.

Re: screen resolution
It won't do your system any harm at all to switch resolutions when starting a game, I do it all the time on standard and widescreen monitors.
LCD monitors have a native resolution which gives better performance and clearer image quality than other resolutions, so it's preferable to use this, but you won't do any damage to your graphics card or monitor by dropping from 1680x1050 to 1280x1050.
