sims 2 help please help

Hey was wondering if you could please help me. I have been trying to install sims 2 on my computer. I have windows vista home premium, intel(R) core(TM) 2 cpu, 4400 @ 2ghz 2ghz, memory 2046 mb, 32 bit operating system, nvidia GeForce 8600 GT Graphics card. I cant seem to update the sims as its installing and i have d/l the update from ea games and when half way through either it has error or wont even start, also sometimes it says can't copy disc. Can you please help a desperate person, lol :(

Hi jacksrest and Welcome to TSF,

Install the game first then update. If it fails to install with an error message can you post the error message so we can help you further.

Thankyou very much but i finally worked out how to do it. If anyone else is having trouble they can try this : Before installing sims 2 > click Start > All Programs > Accessories
> Run > type in MSCONFIG > Tools (tab) > select Disable UAP > launch > restart Windows> Then reinstall sims 2 while this is disabled > update sims 2 > Then turn back on. Worked great for me.
