Some games having problems running on two CPU's

Hey,

So I recently upgraded from an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ to a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+.

When I open up, say, Crysis - the EA logo will start lagging really bad, and to fix this I have to minimize the game, CTRL+ALT+DEL and then set the affinity to 1 CPU. I also have to do this with Guitar Hero III.

Now I'm wondering.. Is there a way that I can set it so that I don't have to minimize the game every time for this? So it'll automatically set it to 1 CPU for games that run badly on two? Some of my other games run just great on two CPU's - Call of Duty 4, Battlefield 2, Soldier of Fortune 2, etc.. All run great, just these two (Crysis & Guitar Hero III), and I'm pretty sure some others are going to encounter this problem out of my collection of games sometime in the future.

Another reason I want to figure this out is because I think it's causing some glitching in Crysis when I have to minimize it and set it to 1 CPU.. For a little bit, for some strange reason, Crysis started up fine without me having to minimize it, and then I didn't get any bad lag or glitching, but now I'm gone back to the same ol' minimizing crap I've been doing all along, and since then, it's been badly glitching in some areas.

My specs:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200
2 gigs of ram
nVidia GeForce 7900 GS 256 MB
DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D Motherboard.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ya got to it before me!!

Installing the dual-core optimizer will fix most all of your problems.
