50 Celsius?
That's pretty hot for most boards. My board begins to malfunction at that heat. Do you leave your machine running all day? Or turn it off when your done with it? Check the air flow of the inside. Make sure to clean with a can of air. Add fans as necessary. You may also want to look into replacing the heatsink on your CPU if you haven't already replaced it with an aftermarket. |

Re: (classic) Xp computer freezes in some online games.
Could be your video card then. Or a drop in your wattage which could cause your games to freeze.
You might try checking your video card fan, first. If the fan is not working properly, that would allow your chip to overheat, causing problems. This happened to my son's Nvidia card recently. The edge of it's fan holder cracked and this kept the fan from working part of the time. This caused some of his games from "looking" as well as "run" properly at times. (He also has Battlefield 2) Eventually, it stopped, the chip overheated and "died". He had to replace it. Running games will cause your computer to work harder and create more heat. If your CPU fan is running slow, this could cause a freeze problem. Here is an older Tech Support thread on a similar topic that might help. If your power supply is dropping, this could cause heat variations in the ambient air inside too. Might want to check that. Supermeb, I also live in Arizona desert and use evaporative cooling in my office (APS charges too dang much for A/C where I am) My previous computer (HP Pavilion 504n) ran 125 to 130 average without any problems. Just had to remember not to turn it on during our hot summers except at night (office temps in the 80sF). Winter is always better. But our main problem is the dust that collects in our cases. Just have to remember to clean them out more often. It finally died after three years of constant use ("Motherboard problems"....it was used when I got it). Now have a brand new one (and faster) that will definitely be "babied" when Summer comes around. Our Winter days are still "warmer" compared to Denmark. And they dont get the same "dust" problems, I bet. So his case running 122F/50C (or just below) is average, as he says. Computers run hot inside anyway. Anything near, at or above 60C and I would worry. But a lot of gaming will increase this heat from shear "work". Just have to make sure all fans work. Or spend a few kroner to buy an extra fan (or two) might be all you need. They do not pull much power and the extra circulation might be all you need. Just make sure you have more "out" flow to get the heat out. There are some good small programs that track your inside CPU fans, heat and even wattage. Hope this helps you. Thank you sir! :DWell the fan works as it should, but maybe it goes to slow.. I dunno. I tried to open my computer so there was free air into it, and play the game, but i froze anyway. Maybe it did't get cold enough.. The funny thing is, that I can play halo (1) online without any freezes. It might not be so demanding as Bf2.. |

Re: (classic) Xp computer freezes in some online games.
Ive now replaced my wireless network card, installed a new driver and done everything that should be done. Im sorry to say that it didn't work. I know for sure its a wireless network problem, but Its not the wireless card itself. Neither is it the driver, because its a new one. So it must be a windows problem! Somthing like a bug, or somthing you guys know of?
