[SOLVED] How do i get oblivion to stop not responding

everyone
i have a problem with the game oblivion and i will do and give any thing if any one told me how to get it to work.

what has happened is when ever i load oblivion up it keeps on coming up with the message that says not responding and it is so anoying

i keep on downloading the patches and re-installing it and still it does not work. does anyone have any suggestions.

Here are my computer details

System:
Microsoft windows XP
Home edition
Version 2002
service pack 2

Manufactured and supported by:
Intel(R) pentium(R) M
Processor 1.60GHz
798Mhz, 760 MB of RAM

Display Adapters
Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family

the laptopspecs are probably not good enough
they will have a better idea in gamers i will move you over

These are the minimum game requirements

* Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows XP 64-bit
* 512MB System RAM
* 2 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor

You have more than enough RAM but your 1.60 ghz is below the minimum. Why you are getting "not responding" messages. To make sure, you can try the System Requirements Lab website to make sure
