First of all I'm new to this site so if I leave any details regarding my question just let me know.
So anyway when I tried to start up Age of Empires III for my computer it gave me this response: ![]() After searching through many trouble shooters they all directed me towards this Direct 3D thing. But I just can't seem to fix my problem. Look at this: ![]() I cannot figure out how to fix these problems. Direct 3D is the whole thing thats messing me up whenever I try to play my computer games. Can someone please give me instructions on how to fix this problem? Thanks. |

Re: Direct 3D - HELP!
Hi Ognolekim and welcome to TSF
![]() Can you please give me your systems specs including motherboard, RAM amount, etc. This will be needed to match up with requirements. I believe your system might be underpowered to play these games. Also can you please follow this speech so that I will know for future references: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I would like you to download and install the program Speedfan. When you are done installing Speedfan open and look for 3 columns. One should have temperatures, the other should have voltages, and the last one should contain your fan speeds. When you have found this information please post to me in a column such as this: (Example) Quote:
Then post your temperatures, voltages, and fan speeds. |

Re: Direct 3D - HELP!
Okay I'm downloading is at the moment, I will edit my post in 2 minutes.
EDIT: Okay I have it downloaded but I have no clue where these columns are lol . I'll keep looking hold on.EDIT2: Okay I found the columns that you listed but I'm a bit confused with where this info is. I might just PrintScreen it and post because I'm completely lost. ![]() EDIT3: Okay here they are: ![]() ![]() I use a desktop so no voltages. EDIT4: Here are my computer specs: ![]() I'm 100% sure that my computer can play this game because I've played it once before on my computer. So something must be wrong with this Direct 3D thing and it's ruining everything.

Re: Direct 3D - HELP!
Hi Ognolekim,
As the error stats you dont have the correct system requirements. The hardware that does not meet the requirements is your Graphics card. Its not a dedicated Card it is infact intergrated. This means it will not support some features like Lighting and Transform, Alpha belending, ect.. Something that the game requires. The best option will be to buy a graphics card. To buy a new Graphics Card you will need to know a few things. 1) Whether your PC has a AGP or a PCI-E slot 2) Your Power Supply is sufficent enough to power the new Card.
