COD 4 single player won't start
CoD 4 Single Player Campain won't start. It says it has found a CD / DVD emulator software.
I have no such software on the computer, nor when the game was installed. Multiplayer works as a charm. any suggestions? |

Re: COD 4 single player won't start
Do you have any virtual drive software installed? This error can also be caused by cracks that try to bypass the CD security. Is it the original CD or a backup copy?

Re: COD 4 single player won't start
It is the original CD. The only program that may cause any problem installed is Clone CD, but then again, i've read the technical help document and checked the "Hide CDR media setting" option.
In addition, after a discussion with Justin Case, i tried all other suggestions mentioned in the document and i even disabled the floppy drive. There's, as mentioned, no virtual driver software installed i.e Alcohol, daemon tools etc. Double checked the registry to be safe. My DVD-player is "Optiarc DVD RW AS-5170A", if that is of any useful information. Thank you for fast reply =) Last edited by aksnes; 12-28-2007 at 10:16 AM. |
