3D problem

I bought my son some new games (COD4, Gears of War, Crysis) for his birthday, and attemped to run them on our gaming computer. It has an ATI oc'd 850 Pro with a flashed bios to unlock all 16 pipelines. I downloaded the drivers from the ATI website and when testing DirectX the card would not create a 3D image. It was working fine before the driver upgrade, I'm in the process of uninstalling the new drivers and working backwards on the driver releases. Anyone run into this problem before? This is not game related, I know this card is not capable of running these games to any decent degree. I'm just interested in why it can't create 3D with the newest drivers. Mike

personally id try the omega drivers that is always what i used with ati cards.
