Freeze + Music Loop while gaming

I had purchased Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars from sometime ago.

It used to run perfectly on this computer without a problem, but after I completed the campaign of one of the factions, I stopped playing that game for a long period of time.

Yesterday, my friend came to my house and tried to play it but before his base was even established, the game froze (including the cursor), and the background music was looped rapidly. Nothing can be, done, I've tried everything, Alt+F4, Ctrl+Alt+Delete, Alt+Tab, but with no luck. I was forced to hold down the power button of the CPU to make it restart.

My friend, not giving up, tried it yet again, and again, and again.

For sometimes, upon freezing, the computer automatically restarts.

In the end, my friend tried to play another game called Earth 2160, but despite it lasting longer than CnC did, the same happened.

Today, I tried setting all my graphic card's settings to default (the way they were) and updated it's driver.

Then, I tried playing CnC. It worked, I managed to complete a 40-minute Skirmish.

Shortly afterwards, I found a MMORPG called RF Online and I immediately downloaded it to try it. To my horror, it lasted for a while, and froze in the tutorial and the music begins looping again.

The second try running the game had the same results. For now, the only game I can run properly is Maple Story.

I've checked that my computer is good enough for the requirements.

Here are my system specs.

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU
6420 @ 2.13GHz
2.14 GHz, 2.00GB of RAM
Physical Address Extension
GeForce 7600 GT 256.0 MB

These are according to the properties of "My Computer". I'm not really good at this stuff, and I really want to solve this problem.

Please help!

Re: Freeze + Music Loop while gaming

yeah you could remove the side of the case, and simply look at it.its the box that the power cord plugs into.if it has some kind of do not remove sticker for the warranty(if it has one) then dont.you could always call the shop that built it,and ask them if you dont want to take the side off.
