depending on what resolution, and exact settings you use.it may need more ram as the 1 gig is filling up it slows, because it is using virtual memory(pagefile on the hard drive)also if the resolution is high enough you could be exceeding your video ram.either way id say adding some ram would fix ya up.

Re: another FPS problem, but pretty unsual for me....
hey dude, its not the ram but its the dual core problem.. i alt+tab out NFS prostreet and set the affinity to one processor and the frame rate was stagnant, no probs with alternate increase and decrease in frame rate.. but the thing is i tried to find the fix of this but i only found it for AMD.. nothing for intel...

the amd fix you speak of is for time stamp's.they get out of sync between the 2 cores.first time ive heard of someone having this problem with an intel.if setting affinity fixes it then hey thats a good thing.

Re: another FPS problem, but pretty unsual for me....
ok now i played crysis with the lowest settings including the resolution... the game again started giving the random up/down fps problem... so i am now convinced that it has to be something to do wid dual core. i installed the windows hotfix KB896256.. (tried both v3 and v4) but it still gave me the same problem.. i even set the core affinity to one, the game was smooth but used to stutter after every 10 secs, so its really irritating, as you are in a fight scene and you get stutters and next thing is you die.. mine is intel centrino duo. and so i think i have no need for amd dual core optimizer, BUT i still installed it and still the problem continued.. now thing is i am wondering is there anything else possible to resolve this problem.. any help or suggestion are totally welcomed.....

i doubt its a dual core problem with crysis.that game is made to use multiple cores.

Re: another FPS problem, but pretty unsual for me....
yea, but its not only crysis, i meant that any new games had this problem. even if i kept the lowest possible graphic settings it gave the FPS problem.
