Shot-online help

I've been unable to get back in the game since last Wednesday night,
November 22, 2007. My system crashed and I had to totally wipe all my info out and format and reinstall OS, all drivers are brand new. Everything is up and running with the xception of "Shotonline".

I've tried everything listed in forums, emailed Q & A, worried the Sugar until he not as sweet as normal and asked for and received help from Dell tech support. They tried all from forums and no success.

I have a dell XPS410 with dual core system, E6300, 9200/410. I have a 250gig hd. nvidea 7300 video card, on-bd sound and use trendmicro for virus and spyware protection as well as firewall.

Does or has anyone experienced this before or have a solution on how to resolve it?????

I get an "HS" error everytime and tells me wrong file has been installed. Program should be reinstalled.

Please help!!!!!

thanks,

Re: Shot-online help

If it says you need to reinstall, my guess is you should try reinstalling it. Sometimes installations don't work right. If you reinstall it and it still doesn't work, try downloading the setup file again, you could have had a corrupt download that led to a corrupt install.

Since stripping drive and formatting, loaded xp media, all new drivers and as many updates and the like as were offered. I've had dell tech support go over options available in forums and the tech is a gamer.

It's been a week today since I last played. I missed everything this weekend and missed out on the semi test. I would like some help to go in the right direction to fix whatever is wrong.

Thanks

Re: Shot-online help

have you checked to be sure the game is set to be allowed on the firewall?also just while trying to play turn the firewall off to see if that helps.are both firewall's enabled the trend micro, and windows firewall?having more than one can cause conflicts.

Re: Shot-online help

I've had windows firewall off since installing TM. When I try to start game, I stop all virus & spyware, again same thing.

Okay, you still haven't said that you've tried reinstalling the game yet. Have you?

Re: Shot-online help

OK, here's my story and "I'M STICKING 2 IT!

I think you guys don't normally grease a squealing wheel, let it fall off,
right? I'd like to bring up one thing I'd didn't realize b4...I think the
majority of folks online think the support staff is a highly paid bunch of
slackers.
Paid one's, maybe, but the majority doesn't get paid except in the gratification you've helped someone.

Maybe just the romantic in me or the old school, help your neighbor!!

You guys & gals...ladies I am available; Thank you so much and you know who I am taking about. i haven't read that much material since college. I learned a bunch about my PC and more importantly, PEOPLE.

Thanks and please stay in touch,

Brucey: Another OldFecker
