MOH Airborne Assault Video Problem

I purchased MOH Airborne Assault and when I installed it I found that my video card (ATI Radeon X800XT) was not supported so I bought an ATI Radeo 1650 Pro card.
The game started the first time but in the first screen where you start a new game I noticed my mouse pointer was crawling slowly. I exited and went into set up and reduced the settings to medium.
Now I cannot get beyond the EA splash screen. After that the screen goes blank and all I hear is music.
I tried repairing the game, reinstalling it but it will not play. Most of the time when I click on the shortcut, right after the screen resizes for the resolution I set in set, up I get a "general protection fault" error message.
If I start the game from the disc it starts okay but I get the blank screen as described above.
I have all the up-to-date drivers and I even set the resolution to 8oo x 600 (the lowest my wide screen Dell will go) but same problem.
Any suggestion as I cannot return the game to Best Buy.
Alan
