PC restarts after 20-40 mins of game play on certain games

right, this is my first post on the fourm so sorry if i get anything wrong.

so far i have found 2 games that restart my pc after 20-40 mins of play, Colin mcray dirt and meadle of honer: airborne.

its definitly not heat as my cpu(intel quadcore @ 2.4Ghz) idles at 16C and only ever goes up to about 25-30C.

my gfx card(BFG 8800 oc2) idles at about 55C and runs stable at 71C on most games, includeing these 2.

i can play most games, even high end ones like halflife2 ep2, team fortress 2, dod:s and fear all on maximum with not one problem, but airborne and dirt just restart.

i dont think its my psu because all the voltages are within resnoble limits

+12 @ 11.83


All latest drivers and bios is updated.

so guys im stuck, i cant play these 2 new games and i dont have a clue why. any help would be great, thanks guys!

Lol overheating is ALL i can think of.
Source games arent hard to run.
I remember playing it on my first POS machine i got.

And if you notice, the "high end" ones you pointed out are mostly if not all run off the same engine.

DOD,HL2,and FEAR run off the same engine.

EP2 and TF2 proably do too. If they're steam games.

But like I said, they arent that hard to run..
Try cleaning out your case if you have any dust n stuff in there.
Peek around to see if anythings broken.

nope, def not overheating, as i said my cpu dosnt get hot and my gfx card is well within safe limits acording to nvidea, fear is a difrent game engion, i also play BF2142 with no problems, all games on max (even resalution on as high as it can go), and i think ul find halflife episode 2 is quite a high end game. pc is only ab out 2 weeks old, everything is new so not dust and no damage.

hows your power supply?
maybe the other games are causing it to run harder than the others causing it to just shut off cause it cant take it.

how about some detailed power supply info.specifically what brand,and model is it?what are you using to cool that quad?those temps are wrong unless you have some exotic cooling.

the psu is a "Ebuyer 600W Gold Silent PSU PFC 12CM Fan" i know its a bit of a cheap one but all the voltages and amps are in the green. and no, its just air cooled, useing the "pc probe 2" that came with motherboard to measure temp fan speed and voltages of cpu/motherbord and Ntune for gfx card.

its got one hell of a heat sink and the psu has a big fan, so i ausme thats y it runs so cool, 2 case fans also.

as for the pc specs:

cpu: intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.4GHz 1066MHz) Socket 775 L2 8MB Cache (2x4MB (4MB per core pair))

yeah, i have read that, i know its a cheap one, but the voltages and amps are the same as you recomend, and they are running at that as well. so what about mine would b causeing it to restart only on certain games??

the voltage reading you have given was the computer idle,or under load?

idle, but after being used, how would i check it under load?

ahh one moment, il compile a map with the moniter running

here lets do this run the following programs at the same time.while monitoring temps,and voltages.

prime95

and

rthdribl

ok prime95 will put a load on your cpu,and rthdribl will put a load on the video card.this will kinda simulate playing games.

what test on prime 95 should i run?

let them both run at the same time for at least 20 minutes.then post what the voltage,and temp readouts are.
