Gameguard makes a wierd noise on Vista

I play several games that use Gameguard as the hack-defense program, but whenever I start the game up, my PC makes a wierd groaning noise and takes 2~3 minutes to just get to the starting screen! When I finally am able to log in, gameplay is extremely laggy, and I have 2G of RAM, and a good supported video driver. On a game that does not require amazing specs like Maplestory or Rakion (who both use Gameguard ), I was wondering if theres any way to solve this problem?

Re: Gameguard makes a wierd noise on Vista

Hi, welcome to TSF

How much free space is left on your hard drive, and do you defrag regularly?

If the game requires the CD to be inserted, does the noise come from the CD drive?

Re: Gameguard makes a wierd noise on Vista

My PC is fairly new, and I have 90G out of 140 left, and the games do not require a CD, other games don't make this noise, only ones like Maplestory, Rakion, and Gunbound.
