Fraps - a 7min video uses 1.04gb?!

Not sure which forum to put this in, so i'll put it here as i was/am playing a game when it happens.

I'm using a full version of fraps, with sound, half size, 30 fps.

I'm playing portal, and in the process of making a walkthrough for it, and as parts are so complicated to explain i wanted to post a video aid with it.

So what software can i use to compress it to youtube standards to post on there?

they are 400X300, 1411kbps bit rate, and i don't seem to be able to change these in fraps. Preferably free software please :D

Windows Movie Maker allows you to set the filesize, bitrate, etc. to fit the recommended format.

There's a very detailed article here about optimizing videos for YouTube.

VirtualDub is PERFECT for what you want to do.
