COD, says need new driver?

I was installing COD (the original one yes, it's and older machine). In case you don't know, thats Call of Duty. I keep getting this error as the game boots saying that I should try and install a new video driver. However I have went to the manufactures website many many times to download the driver. I properly un-installed the driver then re-installed the new one. Yet I still get the same error. Any suggestions?

Re: COD, says need new driver?

Its quite sad to be honest, like 200 MB of RAM, cannot remember the CPU (I'm not on that computer right now). The card was like some ancient Intel 1810 or something like that. All it says is to update the driver, which I have done 5 times.

Re: COD, says need new driver?

Well the thing is, I went to try and switch it with another card, but when I put in the other PCI card, the computer wouldn't even boot. Should I of removed the original PCI vid card first?

Re: COD, says need new driver?

So, (just checking before I go to do it) should I check for settings in the BIOS to reset it? (I'm nearly positive they are there) Or should I just pull out the CMOS battery and stick it back in?

Re: COD, says need new driver?

what i would do is this.boot to windows uninstall the video card driver.then shut it down, pull the old video card out, pull that battery to clear the cmos.put the battery back in,put the new video card in.boot it up,and install the new driver.
