Problem Installing Black And White 2

Im not sure wether this is because my disc is scratched quite badly but everytime i reach a certain part off the installation it fails and comes up with an error message which says something along these lines ... Installation Failed : Incorrect Function : Just wondered if anyone knows why this is happening ..

help would be apprecaited alot

Hi, welcome to TSF

You're right, this error is usually caused by a faulty or scratched disc. Does it work on another computer, or in another CD drive if your computer has more than one?

You could try fixing the scratches with a CD-repair kit. http://xmls.manufacturer.globalsourc...Repair-Kit.htm

Thanks for the help .. it isn't working on either of the computers i have ... but i was wondering would it not be worth buying a new disc for it rather than trying to fix it or is there a pretty good chance that trying to fix it would work ?

It depends on how bad the scratches are. I've had mixed success using repair kits to fix CDs and DVDs.

Do you mean buy the game again or copy it to a new blank? How will you copy it from a damaged CD?

Buy it again .. i dont trust copying stuff onto discs etc seems very unreliable.

Good repair kits range from about $10 to $40. I've only used the cheaper ones, and they work ok for small scratches. You could try this one, on offer for $1.19. If you go for one of the more expensive ones, you might as well use the money to buy the game.
