Game Screen Glitches.
Over the past year I've been having a problem with every new game I buy. The games all run perfectly, no lag or crashing but the screen flashes random blocks of colour. It's happened with Half Life 2, Counter Strike Course, Guild Wars, Command and Conquer Generals and I know it's happening on a few of my Dad's golf games.
At first it isn't too bad but it progressively gets worse the longer you play the game. looks like heat,or power related artifacting.to rule that out reinstall your video driver.then use speedfan post back the temp,and voltage readings.

I've cleaned the computer out for dust before as a solution to fix this problem, it didn't work. I'll try again now because even if it doesn't work a clean computer is a good thing.
Also to check if the fans are working will I have to run the computer while the case is open, cos that seems like a bad idea in my head. |

It's ok to run the computer with the case open for a short while. Just don't touch anything inside.
While you've got the case open, post back with the details from the PSU label. Make/model, total watts, and the amps for +12V. Remove the graphics card from its slot and clean the connector strip (gold fingers) with an eraser. Blow any dust out of the slot and reseat the card. You need to replace the thermal compound between the CPU and heatsink. Instructions here. This will reduce the CPU temperature. The other high temperatures could be due to incorrectly positioned case fans or a buildup of dust. Or they could be caused by a weak PSU generating excess heat.
