[SOLVED] Weird new game problem
I've never had any problems like this before. Recently, i fired up HaloPC, and instead of the opening videos, I got "no input" on my monitor. This was odd because it worked fine the day before, with no changes since then. I then tried to start up half life 2, which I'd played earlier in the day, only to find the same no input message. I updated my drivers to the latest 7.9 ATI drivers, and all my games were fine except for halo. Just today I installed Titan Quest, and that now gives me "no input". Really, Really confused here, any help would be welcome. I ran through all of the steps in the sticky thread. Also, I ran DXDIAG, as it was suggested by Halo when it crashed, and it says no problem, but when i try to run direct draw or direct3d tests, it says no support for 640x480x16. Could this be related?
System specs AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 2.2Ghz ASUS A8N5X mobo 2 gigs DDR400 ram ATI Radeon X850XT 256MB SATA HDD Under the "Display" tab of dxdiag: No problems found. <---This happened when i opened it --Everything below this is a result of pressing the 'test directDraw, and test DirectX buttons-- DirectDraw test results: Failure at step 17 (SetDisplayMode to 640x480x16): HRESULT = 0x80004001 (Not implemented) Direct3D 7 test results: Failure at step 39 (SetDisplayMode to 640x480x16): HRESULT = 0x80004001 (Not implemented) Direct3D 8 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x88760827 (error code) Direct3D 9 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8876086c (error code) Last edited by HyperBlau; 10-08-2007 at 11:19 AM. |

Re: Weird new game problem
I think I solved the problem. Yes, I had re-installed the drivers a few times before posting, but I tried again using a program called driver cleaner, and it seems to have worked. I will try Halo now, as that was giving me the most trouble before. I'll post how it went.
