Re: characters becoming transparent

Please post your full system specs and graphics driver version number. Have you tried reinstalling your graphics driver, chipset drivers and DirectX?

Re: characters becoming transparent

Forceware 163.71 is the latest driver for your card, released 28-Sept-2007.

To see if DirectX is working properly, go to Start > Run > dxdiag > Display tab. Enable the 3 Acceleration buttons if they're disabled and run the 2 tests. Any problems listed in the Notes box?

To install the latest graphics driver, go to Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware tab and click the Device Manager button. Click the [+] next to Display Adapters. Right-click the nvidia entry and select Uninstall. Reboot into VGA mode and disable antivirus to prevent conflicts. Install the new driver and reboot to complete.

Re: characters becoming transparent

Graphics artifacts can be caused by software problems like drivers, game settings, patches/cracks or corrupt/missing system files. Or by hardware problems like overheating, overclocking, bad RAM, etc.

As your current driver appears to be out of date, we'll try updating this first. If that doesn't work, we'll check your temperatures and voltages to see if your system is stable.
