[SOLVED] pc crash

Hello
I'm a new player to GW Factions, and have a problem. Hope somebody can help.First here are my specs:
cpu-amd 3800 dual core
mem- 2g ocz ddr
video- nvidia 6800gs agp
The problem is that when try starting the game the pc crashes at login screen with out any reported error and i have to reboot, can't even start the game. I have latest drivers, run dxdiag with no problems, tried older drivers but no help. Every other game and program runs fine. Then I replaced my video card with an old radeon 9550 and the game runs fine no crashes or freezing. I have no clue why my better video card crashes. Please help!
Thanks

Re: pc crash

that honestly sounds like a power supply problem.when ya switch to a card that uses less power it suddenly works again.with that being said list your power supply info brand, and model.

Re: pc crash

Thanks pharoah! I have an ultra xfinity 500w power supply. Used to run the same config on a 400w power supply with out any problem. Also when playing other game like quake4, dawn of war, battlefield, nfs, I don't have any freezing or crashing problems. It only happens with guild wars.

Re: pc crash

Update! After running test after test on my pc I did a sfc scan with the xp disk. Looks like had some corrupt file or something, bacause the game runs fine now with the nvidia card and latest driver. I just don't understand why this corrupt file was only causing problem with this game and video card combo? (Every other game was running fine.) Thanks again for your help.
