system ram for video card?
I just bought a Dell Inspiron 1521, and thought when I saw ATI that the card would be could, and as it was my only choice I was happy with it, but after looking around it doesnt seem that great, it is the ATI Radeon X1270. I have 2gb of ram and run vista. I was wondering if it would help my gaming experience if I was to allocate some of my 2gb for the video card?

Re: system ram for video card?
i just looked that model up to be clear on tech specs.it does have integrated video which isnt really designed for gaming if thats its purpose, but allocating a bit more ram to the video could help.

Re: system ram for video card?
enter the bios, and look for frame buffer size,or something similar.ive seen that called a couple different things.actually being integrated graphics it already runs off your system memory.you will know it when you see it.the drop down menu,or box that pops up will have a memory size.just set it to a higher setting.keep in mind you cant change that on some.if you dont know how to get into the bios.just keep hitting the delete key after you hit the power button.on some computers one of the "f" keys gets you in there.
