My System

amount of my memory for online gaming

hello ok i dont have alot of memory i know but with the memory i do have ihow much can i designate to playing cod2 online. i have a program called tweakall and this it what it tells me that i have total physical memory available to windows is 523,760kb and currently free physical memory 326.556kb thats 62% of physical memory free. ive heard that the more memory a game has the faster /better it runs, so how much more can i allocate to the game without running into problems with anything else? that was the easy question now how would i do that if it is even wise to do it? i know from past post that when i need to know whats up that this is the place for me. this site kicks butt for any and all help and i promote this site whenever possible. thanks... oh if it is do able what i have asked about,then in the most simplist way and easiest way to understand.for a not so computer savvy person heres what i have to work with.
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.66GHz
Memory: 512MB RAM
Hard Drive: 71 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500
Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor
Sound Card: Realtek AC97 Audio
Speakers/Headphones: yes logitech
Keyboard: USB Root Hub
Mouse: USB Root Hub
Mouse Surface:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp

The more memory the better for gaming. Most games do quite fine with 1GB of memory, but 2GB is real sweet place. Some games do pretty well with even 512mb like you have but they tend to be older games. Like Halo combat evolved, mine doesn't even use 256mb.

I think the OS is the one who will be allocating memory for the game, I don't believe it will require any interaction from you.
