Odd Oblivion Launcher Error, help appreciated

I decided to pick up Oblivion again. I reinstalled it and everything, however when I try to open the launcher, right after it chooses my video settings based on my hardware, a windows error message comes up saying it needs to close. After the first time it does that, the error message comes up every time I try to open the launcher, before the window even comes up.

I tried deleting Oblivion.ini in the My Games folder in My Documents, but the only thing it changes is that the Launcher window appears like it should, but it still errors after every time it decides upon my video settings.

If I use the .exe for the game that doesn't use the launcher, the game opens fine and I could play it, but I'd like to use some mods so as far as I know I need the launcher to work for that.

I've played the game on this PC before, and my hardware exceeds the Reccomended hardware for the game.

Please click on "Common Game Issues" in my signature, and follow the steps. A reinstall of the game is likely to be the solution to this problem. Let us know how you go.
