[SOLVED] Random Crashing
Hello, I have a a major problem when it comes to games. I have just built my new PC and getting problems when it comes to gaming. The main one the PC crashes in is Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. Crashing after about 5-10mins play (Screen goes black and PC reboots). It also crashes in BF2. It doesnt crash however in Half-Life 2, Oblivion or even Tom Clancys Splinter Cell Double Agent. Its definitly not temperatures, CPU runs at 15C idle and 21C load. X1800XT 512mb GPU 48C idle and 65C load. Im stumped. Tried different voltage settings for memory no effect, first thought wasnt getting enough juice so upped to 2.2v.
The memory is Crucial Ballistix 8500+ PSU is Antec NeoHe 500W Processor is E6850 @3 Ghz GPU is X1800XT 512mb Motherboard is Gigabyte P35C-DS3R PPU is 128mb Physx BFG Abit Wireless network card PCI-E x1 Could it be a faulty motherboard, or hardware confliction? Any thoughts greatly appreciated ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Random Crashing
Hi,
First, click on "Common Game Issues" in my signature, and run through all the steps there. If nothing helps, download Everest (in my sig), and record the idle and load temps and voltages (under Computer -> Sensor). Post those here for us. Also, open the Control Panel, and go System -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery -> Settings, and untick the "Automatically Restart" box. When your system crashes next, see if you get a blue-screen error. If you do, note down the error, and post it here.

Re: Random Crashing
Tried that didnt work. The BSOD doesnt come up this time the screen just goes black and the system hangs instead of rebooting. The memory in CPU-Z is reporting as max bandwidth as 6400 and 400 mhz but the SPD in the bios accepts 1066? Could this be the cause?
