lag spikes

Hello, my problem happens when I'm playing a game online on my computer. I have windows XP and play counter strike and some MMORPG's. Sometimes, my ping will jump up to about 200-500 and be unstable for about 30 seconds. This drives me INSANE. This problem has not always happened, it started about a month ago. Also, the internet is a little bit slow sometimes. This might have to do with my wireless internet because the speed is very unstable. I have a really really new computer. Please help =)

hello welcome to tsf.if you think your wireless is the problem.why not run a cable to it to see if that fixes it.
