[SOLVED] Graphics problem w/ Vista

I have AoE III. Recently I installed Vista, and of course, AoE is Vista Compatible.
But one problem w/ it is that in single player skirmish, the chat stuff is messed up.
(if you even played sp skirmish) when you click on the "strategies" or "tribute" tab in chat, normally there'd be "Focus on a quick attack", "focus on economy", or "focus on defense" in three lines; "send food", "send wood", "send coin" in three lines also.
Now they're both fitted into two lines, and the first and third lines are cramped together and I can't click on the third option.
Before I reinstalled Vista, I once solved this problem by disabling "VSync" in Graphics Options. Now it doesn't work. Please help!

Well I followed all the steps, and the results were the same.
The problem turned out to be the resolution. Set it really high and everything goes right, but then it goes a bit slow.
