starcraft issues
I bought starcraft not to long ago and installed it. It works properly but as soon as I insert the CD into the drive the PC suddenly slows right down to were the mouse isn't moving as fast as it should be and my cpu usage is at 100%. The game runs laggy and choppy. I have diablo as well and it doesn't do that. I have plenty of memory and ram. What is going on????

Re: starcraft issues
nope still doesn't work. I tried it and said to uninstall the program. I did and noticed that it slows down as soon as I put the disk in the drive. My computer is less than a year old and runs diablo 2 fine.

Re: starcraft issues
thats ok if you dont know i just looked it up.id say the integrated graphics is the problem.the good news is that model does have a pci-e x16 slot.so you could add a dedicated video card.

Re: starcraft issues
yes the video is integrated on the motherboard, and doesnt have a dedicated graphics card.you can always add one though it does have an expansion slot for one.as to what you need that would depend on how much your willing to spend.another thing to think about i have worked on many emachines, and i know they have low quality power supplies.if you get a video card you may should think about a better power supply as well.

Re: starcraft issues
Starcraft dosnt need a graphics card to run but like pharoah says its best that you do.. If you say that when you put in the disc your pc slows up. Your pc might be having problems reading the cd. As Starcraft is an old game it requires the cd all the time, this leads me to believe that the CD is too scratched or your CD/DVD drive is damaged. eg. Laser out of alignment, to much dust in the drive.
Does your pc have any other slowdowns with another Disc?

Re: starcraft issues
There is a sticker or a plate on the side of the PSU with its specifications. Usually on the same side you take the side cover of the case off.

Re: starcraft issues
If you intend to get a graphics card like a Nvidia 7900GT or a 8800GT then yes you will need a new PSU. 300watts is just not enough. Try looking for a Silverstone and OCZ they are a good brand.

Re: starcraft issues
Hey Bostitch, try turning off your disc drives auto run, then put the disc in, go to my computer, right click on the drive the disc is in, hit explore and click INSTALL. It will take a while to install but once it is done it should run fine.
