World of Warcraft Trial Graphic Glitch Problem

Hi i recently downloaded a trial version of WoW....

I didn't encounter any problems installing it on another computer.

But on this particular computer I am greeted with a graphical glitch problem....(which I attached)....

I restarted, reinstalled, updated, everything, and even tried changing the screen size nothing has worked yet....

The weird part is that I have installed WoW once before on this computer, and it worked back then.... but now I don't know what is going on....

I appreciate any help given....

Re: World of Warcraft Trial Graphic Glitch Problem

bump*
I haven't been on for a while, but again any help would be appreciated... I haven't activated my account yet, so we are in good standing...... Just to break down the problem....
-Graphic Glitch (which is attached on the first post)
-Opening Movie does not work....

Oh and just to clarify more it is no longer the trial version, I bought the Original and the Expansion from my friend.... I wanted to try the trial to see if it worked... but obviously not..... I works well on my other computer though.... but I prefer to play it on this computer....

What drivers are you running? I would change over to the 84.21 drivers if you don't have them.

84.21 drivers? I do not really know what that is... (cause the display drivers usually update themselves) but maybe a link to download the drivers will help or some other medium.....

Go into the nVidia Control Center, and find out the Forceware version It is the very first section on the list at the left.

Re: World of Warcraft Trial Graphic Glitch Problem

Your GeForce 4 MX video card does not support WoW's pixelshaders.
  • Open the World of Warcraft folder on your hard drive. (Default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft)
  • Open the *** folder.
  • Open the Config.*** file using a text editor, like Notepad.
  • Change SET specular "1" to SET specular "0"
  • Change SET pixelShaders "1" to SET pixelShaders "0"
  • Save the file and start the game again.
You may DL the 84.21 drivers for XP here: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winxp_2k_84.21_uk.html

Re: World of Warcraft Trial Graphic Glitch Problem

Thanks for the assitance again, both TheMatt and Matt.M,

Unfortunately I don't know how to go into the Nvidia Control Center.....(might want to walk me through it)...sry

Also in the *** files I do not see pixelshaders or specular.....

I went ahead to install 84.21 drivers but they did not show any improvement......

But again thanks for the help and sorry for any inconvenience....
