Wrid graphical glishrs on newly released games

Hi everyone i am serously getting anoyed with the problems im getting with newly released games such as stalker and call of juarez.
The main problem wich were very evident from the beginning were the strainge plains (3dsmax type plains) that would suddernly pop up out of nowhere some would cover the sky or the ground some even appered right in front of me.
The second problem was the crashing back to desktop or the restarting of my computer but what is realy iritating me is the fact that the games run fine with no stutter at all its just these stupid plains and stop errors that are constintly buging me.

My specs are
3.4 ghz
2 gig ram
geforce 7900gtx driver version 94.24 (latest)
windows xp sp2
direct x 9.0c

If anyone has any solutions i will be increadably thankfull and realifed that i just dident waste 50 odd quid on stuff that should be working but is not.

What type of PSU is in your rig? You've got some demanding hardware in there.

Re: Wrid graphical glishrs on newly released games

The power supply unit (PSU) is the box at the top rear where the power cable plugs into. To see your PSU details, open the case and post back with the details on the PSU label (make/model, total watts, and the amps for +3.3V, +5V and +12V). It will look something like this....

Do you have the same problem with earlier versions of the graphics driver?

Have you installed the latest DirectX? Go to Start Run > dxdiag > Display tab and run the tests. Any problems listed in the Notes box?

Re: Wrid graphical glishrs on newly released games

make Hiper
model 4s525
+3.3v +5V +12v1 +12v2
34A 34A 20A 17A

Max watts 525

Yes i was expirancing these problems with prevous driver versions and even when i updated it dident solve anything, my directX version is 9.0c wich im pritty sure is the latest directx, well exept for directx 10 but im not sure if its out or not or weather its avalable for xp
I just ran the tests and no problems have arisen so it carn't be directx unless there is a more current version of directx im not aware of.

Re: Wrid graphical glishrs on newly released games

9.0c is the latest, so you're ok there. The next thing to look at is your voltages and temperatures.

Run SensorsView when you first switch on with no programs running and take a screenshot. Play Stalker for a few minutes until the artifacts start appearing, then Alt-tab back to the desktop and take another screenshot. This will tell us how well the PSU works under stress and if any components are overheating. Post back with the 2 screenshots. (You can just copy down the numbers if that's easier for you)

To see if your PSU meets your system's requirements, enter your full system specs into this power calculator and add 30% to the total figure to allow for PSU inefficiency. This is only a rough guideline, but it's worth checking.

Re: Wrid graphical glishrs on newly released games

It sounds like a heating issue. Artifacts and anomalies during gameplay are a key clue. The temps are really really wacked out also. They should not go lower after/during a game and the temp of 3C is only acceptable if your computer is in a freezer! I'm willing to be your having heat issues that are messing up more than just your video card. Open your case and clean out the dust. Make sure all your fans are running and there is one in front pulling air in and one in back exhausting air out.

Download Everest (in my signature), and check the temps and voltages with it (click Computer -> Sensor). Sometimes SensorsView gives messed up readings.

Re: Wrid graphical glishrs on newly released games

Hi guys its bin along time but I still haven’t solved this problem and I found out that my cpu temperature is about 20-25c before a game and 30-40c during a game but what’s really bugging me now is that I’m getting problems with Rise and Fall Civilizations at War but the thing is this game worked perfectly when I first got the game, and did so for over a year its only recently that I decided to re-install it only to find out that its getting the same problems I experience with stalker and call of Juarez. but other games like Warhammer Mark of Chaos work perfectly even though its more graphically demanding are you guys sure its a heating problem? If it were wouldn’t it be affecting all my games?
