Games crashing! [RESOLVED]
Hi,
I’m having trouble playing games. My games always quit back to the desktop after a few minutes of playing, with an error message that says something like “Oblivion.exe has generated errors and must close” or “CoH.exe has generated errors and must close” etc. This has only started to happen recently and I cant figure out what’s causing it! I Know this is an extremely broad question and there are thousands of things that can cause a game to cash out but if anybody can advise a few things to try I would much appreciate it. I’ve already reinstalled video drivers, reinstalled the games, ran Chkdsk, done a virus and spyware scan with AVG and Webroot spysweeper. Nothing helped! My rig: OS Windows xp professional (fully updated) DirectX 4.09.00.0904 (DirectX 9.0c) Video Drivers Modified Forceware drivers (nvodngov215822) Motherboard: MSI P965 Neo (MS-7235) CPU Type: DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo E6400: OC@ 2666 MHz System Memory 2048 MB (DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM): OC@ 416.3 MHz Video Adapter XFX NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS (320 MB) Audio Adapter Realtek ALC883 @ Intel 82801HB ICH8 - High Definition Audio Controller [B-0] (Onboard sound) Thanks Sam

Re: Games crashing!
I seemed to have fixed this by updating my BIOS.

Re: Games crashing!
Well my games no longer crash out!
![]() I don't quite understand it my self. The BIOS update obviously undid all my overclocking, so at first i thought if was my overclock (which was very low) but i have now re overclocked and the games still work fine. must have been another doggy BIOS setting i didnt know about!? Probably could have resolved th problem without a BIOS update and just cleared the CMOS. but all is working now so im happy
