Major Oblivion Glitch
Hi, I recently installed The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion
I had the official 1.2 patch, the Unofficial Oblivion Patch v2.1.0, and the Beautiful People Mod. Shortly after getting out of the sewers tutorial area, I was walking around outside, and fought a wolf, during my fight, my character began moving extremely slowly, we're talking at a snails pace. I dropped equipment to make sure I wasn't overencumbered, and I tried hitting every button on my keyboard. My character would continuously move in a direction all its own, and at and extremely slow pace. I tried loading a previous save, the problem was there, I tried starting a new game, the problem was there, I tried uninstalling everything and deleted the bethesda folder from my computer and reinstalled, the problem was still there. I literally have no idea how it could be doing this, but I now cannot play the game because my character moves slower than molasses in January. Anybody heard of this or have any ideas on how to fix it? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks. |

Re: Major Oblivion Glitch
i had a similar problem recently with a mod.turns out the mod wasnt compatible with the 1.2 patch.keep in mind alot of those mods were made prior to the 1.2 patch.

Re: Major Oblivion Glitch
I agree with the running without the mod idea. But if that fails to fix the problem. Try pressing the tilde (~) key. Then type tcl. Then press enter. Press tilde again to close the console. You should be able to fly around without running into things but that will at least make sure you aren't stuck on/in anything.
Oblivion can do some strange things with it's physics engine. |

Re: Major Oblivion Glitch
This is the EXACT same problem I have no doubt about it the description is the exactly how I would have described it. I have played the game until level 15 and then I installed the eyja maid mod. Then tried to install the update for it and two other mods that were required. One was Gulfs hot cloths and the other was dudes augments and then some errors started to pop up. I thought I fixed it by reinstalling all the mods I had in order again them BAM I couldn’t walk anymore.
The walking animation was incredibly slow unless I pressed the W key fast then the animation sped up but I still couldn’t move the character kind of drifts of her own accord in some unknown direction ambiguous to my commands. Since then I have uninstalled then reinstalled the mods then completely uninstalled oblivion deleted the oblivion and data folders along with save games folder (kept a backup of all data.) and ran regedit to remove any reference to oblivion, TES ex. from my puter, STILL have the same incredibly infuriating problem. Seriously I have a NVIDIA geforce 7950-GT 512 mem and a nforce MB with the new duo-core2 2.4gz version and a couple sticks of 1gig mem I cant fig this one out its killing me not to be able to play, just hoping for some TLC here Thanks Jay |

Re: Major Oblivion Glitch
At http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/
We get at least a few of these each day. It is caused by a controller/joystick/gamepad plugged in. Unplugg it, and set bUseJoystick=0 instead of 1 in oblivion.ini found in My Documents/My Games/Oblivion. Duh to my defense I didn’t recognize it because it was in slow-mo not strife still with all the years of RPG’s under my preverbal belt I should have recognized this error |
