Civ 4 mod help

I've tried to download and install "Fall From Heaven" mod (from different sites) and can't do it. Has anyone had sucess with this mod...... if so please help!!!!!!

does that game have any official patches out.if so do you hav it installed.also was the mod created pre,or post patch.could be a compatibility issue depending on what official patches you may,or may not have installed.

If it's Fall From Heaven 1.00g then it will only work with the Civ4 patch 1.61
Other versions of the mod might only work on earlier patched versions of Civ4.

Are you having trouble downloading or installing? Are you using a download manager or the built-in browser "save as..."?

thanks for clearing that up on the patches koala.i had a feeling it was patch compatibility.

Mod basics: when I download should I "save" or "run"???????
I have been saving the mod to the mod folder, then when I start the game I "load a mod" and pick the "Fall from Heaven" mod, the game reboots then shuts down.

Are there genral procedures to follow when you download/install a mod or a patch????????
