OK, I'm fairly proficient at solving my PC problems considering I rework laptops for a living, but this issue is really getting on my nerves.
Here are my specs: 500W Antec Truepower Athlon64 3200+ 2GB Corsair Value RAM BFG 7900GS OC AGP 200 GB Seagates EIDE (X2) Logitech wireless Mouse/Keyboard Razer Copperhead MB is a Manufacturer Specific for HP that uses the NForce3 chipset (Diablo Board) ------------------------------------------------- My problem is that in games and ONLY games, I am having input problems. Outside of games and actually in-game inside option menus, input is fine. This leads me to believe the problem would be with DirectInput, but according to DXDiag, there are no problems. GDI seems to be working fine. An example of said problems is as follows (WASD and Mouse): What I want to happen: Push "W" to move forward a bit then turn (Mouse) and then short burst fire (MouseClick) What actually happens: My char/toon/avatar/soldier moves forward A LOT, then turns around in circles for while, then shoots a burst, another burst, burst, burst, burst, burst... Now during this entire ordeal I'm trying to counter said gross movements and those counters are exaggerated and tacked onto the end of the input message loop, so now my char/toon is standing there doing the funky chicken and is either killled or runs out energy/ammo. If I release the mouse and don't enter any input on the K/B, it will end. I usually then hit "esc" and the game menu comes up, but then it works fine. So as stated it seems to be a DirectX (DirectInput) problem and not a GDI problem. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have have uninstalled/re-installed the most recent DirectX, mouse drivers, and Nvidia (Mouse and M/B) drivers. I also used DCPro to do so when available. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I could use any help you guys can give, this is affecting all the games that I am currently playing. (BF2142, JointOPs, Vanguard SOH, and Neverwinter Nights 2) |
