CnC3 Lan error.

Everytime i Try and connect too a lan game i always go Link dead
and get disconnected
ive tried everyrthing.

The host is using XP

Hi,

Could you explain what you mean by "Link dead"? I'm not a C&C player, so forgive my ignorance.

Have you checked any network settings in the game to make sure you're both set the same? Have you made sure the LAN itself is set correctly - are you able to transfer files, or play other games, etc? Is one of you using a patch which the other isn't? Are you or the host using a crack or burnt disc, or are you both using original discs?

Well i can join the server but once the game starts thats when i get disconnected due / time out.

I can host a server but my compy aint all that good + windows vista Ultima 64 using 900mb of my 1gb aint helping either.

its just when i try and join an Local area network game (not internet)

i had the same thing happen with a beta version of vista.when i was trying to host a game of freelancer.it shows as a metric ip address doesnt it.has letters in there to instead of just numbers.i never could resolve the problem.

In the options mine comes up as normal IP tho
192.168.X.X

because im behind a router and suchs

well i have a router to.do you have the port forwarding setup on your router to grant you access.

Have you checked all these things? Please let us know the answers to these questions, so we know what has and hasn't been done.

yea the network is fine were all using cd's nor burnt or no crack and same patch
