C&C Red alert Yuris Revenge error

When I try to launch YR all I get is an error msg "cannot set video mode" even when played in 98 compatablity mode, I have XP and a 215 PCI Radeon card, I can play the sims2...but not this... even RA2 plays dodgy it has random black squares that form over the videos, please I need help this is making me so angry! I brought the C&C Collection comes with RA2, YR, TS, and Renegade.

NB this same error occurs whilst trying to play TS

What is your desktop resolution? (You can check by going Control Panel -> Display -> Settings.)

Have you run through all the steps listed under "Common Game Issues" in my signature? If not, run through them now, and post back with results.

I can get it to run, but very poorly, and only RA2 works, TS doesnt...

Try changing your desktop resolution to 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768, and then running the game.
