S.t.a.l.k.e.r

I've just got STALKER and I just cannot get it to work. I get a brown screen after the videos play. I can see the mouse cursor (not that it's any good as there's nothing to click). Any ideas?

CPU: 2.8ghz Intel Pentium 4
RAM: 1g
Graphics: ATI Radeon 9250 256mb @ 128bit

I've checked all of these and still doesn't work. There is no patch for the game at the moment :(

have you tried to reinstall.i would uninstall goto regedit,and delete any registry keys for the game.you can find those registry keys by entering the game name then hit search.then do another search in the registry for the game makers name.be carefull only delete keys clearly marked with the games name or maker name.reinstall the game with your anti-virus program turned off those can interfere with installs.

edit: are all you drivers up to date

villion you hit that nail on the head i just looked up some info for that game.wow it sounds more hardware intensive than oblivion.id say a 9250 would never play it.

The Stalker Engine
300.000 to 3.000.000 polygons per frame. Dynamic shadows and lighting. Characters are correctly shaded by objects.

Powerful physics engine, i.e., controlling vehicles, detailing objects, bullet ballistics, skeleton animation, etc.

Realistic AI, i.e., characters' behaviour is adequate to environment and events happening around.

and on a german site i found they recommend a conroe 6300,and a 7900gs minimal requirements

This game runs like Halflife 2, that's what people are complaining about, I'll be able to run it. I've pinned down the problem, it's an ATI issue and they plan to patch it.

yeah you might be able to my german is very rusty.what they said on there is recomended system requirements.minimal requirements call for a radeon 9600,or fx5500.back off the settings like as low as they will go you should be able to play it.

Yeah, Stalker requires much better hardware than Oblivion. Played it all weekend; great game. Medium detail @ 1024.

would you mind letting me know how you fixed this issue.

I have the same problem and also have an ati radeon 9250, it's obviously an issue with the card.
