Computer shutting down?
Lately, my computer has decided to just randomly shut down while I'm playing WoW. Never had this problem before. Any ideas why this would just all of a sudden start happening?

Re: Computer shutting down?
Hi,
Download and run the Sensorview Pro program under my signature and post the temps, voltages, and fan speed results here. Be sure to try the temps while the computer is resting and then under-stress so we get a good comparison.

Re: Computer shutting down?
Posting your full system specs would also help - click "Posting System Specs" in my signature for details.

Re: Computer shutting down?
Thanks for the tips... I'll do that when I get home tonight.
I actually think I may have found the issue. I have an Alienware (I'll post specs later), and with it came a program called eGuru for Abit motherboards that was an optional install. I installed it recently which I thought was cool because it monitored fan speeds, temps, etc... Well, I found that it had some emergency functions that shut down the computer when the temps got to a certain level. The default temps were actually too low, so my computer would run at its normal temp and would just shut down. So I disabled that function completely until I can figure out what a healthy setting would be. When I get home, I'll be sure to post your requests. Also, if you guys have any recommendations of what temps my computer should be at, that would be awesome. Thanks! |

Re: Computer shutting down?
Hi,
One suggestion. If you own and alienware computer, then don't mess with much of anything or that will void your warranty with them. They don't permit any alteration or changes under their warranty.
