AOM lag

yea i'm playing age of mythology and i'm getting bad fps/frame lag, i have no clue why tho...no viruses/spyware/adware because i recently did a full system scan with avg i caught like 4 things got rid of them. I do registry clean and defrag every day and its nothing with internet connection ( of course) and i use WinPatrol (sorta like ctr alt del, but it gives more description of everything running) and i dont see anything that wouldn't normally running? so whats up

I'm almost 100% sure its not power suply i tweak my computer almost every day cleaning it out, and when i play i make sure nothings running in the background such as updates, and reinstalling it, ( i think i've done it ) but i dont think it will do anything consisdering i never used to lag in that game, its been maybe a month or 2 since the lag started maybe less i forget, but yeah i cant find anyway for me to be lagging its so weird, i dont lag at first maybe a minute into the game but when everyone starts attacking and the later i get into the game, is where i start slowing down

When games start off ok but gradually get slower, monitor your temperatures and voltage values for increases and fluctuations that could indicate a hardware problem.

Post back with 2 SensorsView screenshots, one from when you first switch on and another while playing the game when you notice it starting to lag.

Also, post your system specs, including the amps/volts info from the PSU label, and the layout of your case fans. Check to make sure all fans are spinning and the airflow from the front of the case to the back is unobstructed.

Which graphics driver do you have installed?

You still have an unresolved HJT thread here waiting for a reply. It may be related to this problem.

You can use Everest to monitor your temperatures and voltages in Computer > Sensors.

lol koala i was just doing the same thing.looking at all his posts.i would say you do need to finish following there advice in that section.if you just removed 55 viruses, and something is wrong to the point that you cant install ie7.i would have to conclude the problem is a virus damaged os.

o no the IE7 problem was a long time ago, i dont know why but i got it installed a while ago lol, it just interfiors with my AOM stat sever upload (like say if i win a game and my stats are 10 win 9 loses, my stats wont change, it will stay 10 wins, 9 loses, as long as i have IE7) well at least from what i've heard, but it doens't interfior with the lag

so did you,or did you not finish following the advice of the folks in the security section.if you possibly are still infected,or havent finished what they were telling you to do to repair.then honestly maybe none of the fixes we try may not help if your windows is busted.

Post your system specs, and the temperatures and voltages both at idle and under stress.

ok just making sure you finished following there advice before we went any farther.do as koala said get everest, and let us know what your temps are.i seen in another thread that your fans are throttling to a fairly high speed<this can be an indicator its getting hot.

if it is real dusty inside that can cause a problem with the air flow, and heat it up.let us know how hot it is getting.
