The godfather the game

I am getting ridicuously low framerates in the godfather. I know that the software is supposed to be kinda slow but I'm getting 1-10 FPS. I have more than the minimum system requirements.

Celeron 2.4GHZ
1.25GB RAM
256mb GeForce 6600
240 GB HD

I am not having this problem with games as new as battlefield 2142 and FEAR. I do regular virus, spyware, and adware scans but it takes over 12 hours to defrag my 200GB HD so I don't do it.

patch it also if there is one. Try turning down your visual settings, resolution especially.

there are no patches that I know of for the Godfather and my settings are as low as they can get. also I set the priority in task manager to "high".
