You're not kidding! Get in there with a can of compressed air, and blow out all that dust, especially from the CPU heatsink and fan. All that dust will be adding to (if not completely causing) your heat problem.

The wire you mentioned is a power cable for a floppy drive, and it doesn't need to be plugged in.

Let us know how the system goes when you've blown all the dust out.

Also, please don't bump your thread (by posting "help") unless the thread has been inactive for more than 24 hours. The people on here live all around the world, so for example, I'm asleep when you're wanting help. Give us time, and we'll get to you.

you can get a can of compressed air to clean out a computer about anywhere.wal mart, radio shack, and any place that sells computers will have it.

edit:you could remove that shroud around that cpu cooler remove the fan from the heatsink<"since you have no paste remove the fan from the heatsink leave the heatsink on it" try a vacuum cleaner to get that dirt off.be sure to use a plastic tip on the vac,and be easy with your componets.when its cleaned up put the fan,and shroud back on.boot up,and check your temps again.

The local electronics store should also carry compressed air. Have a look around, ask some people. You'll find it.
