Computer isn't installing games, or any software from any media

My computer has begun to play up it wont installing any games from cd or hardddrive (warcraft, battlefield) it is reporting that the disks are dirty/corrputed and that it can not read them ( but they dont look dirty and i have downloaded it from many different people). I cant work out whats the problem and nee help.

Computer specs:windows xp
core 2 e6600
2gb ddr2 ram
250gb seagate hdd
1x Lg DVD RW drive
1x unknown brand drive (dvd rw)
evga 680i motherboard
nvidia 7950gt 512mb

Are you talking about downloaded games, or legit versions?

Downloading games is illeagal, you need to make it clear whether your games are legitimate versions or downloaded.

yep i have the legal versions and ive tried to installing from the their cds/dvds and also because the cds werent working i also downloaded them to see if they would install be the didnt as well.

If you haven't already done so, run through the 'Common Game Issues' link in my signature.
If none of those help please post some details on what happens when you try to install. Do you get an error of any kind or does the drive start to spin up and then just idle and do nothing?
