Can't Install any game

My computer is not letting me install any game. Every time I try to open up the installer it always comes up with "(game's launcher program IE: Oblivion Launcher) has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." It's making me angry because I don't know what I can do. I'm positive my computer meets the requirements for the games I'm trying to install because I have had them installed before. It won't let me reinstall them.

have you run virus/spyware/malware scans? Seems as if something is preventing you from running installations and it's not a permission setting since it's giving you that error. Have you tried something as simple as a restart?

Have you tried launching the installer from the actual .EXE file on the disc or is this problem occuring when using the Autorun?

Is it only games having this problem? Try installing a program, any old program and see if you have any error messages with that.
You could try updating the firmware for your CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive.

I have tried launching the installer and the autorun from the disc but neither work. It comes up with the same problem. I just tried to in stall the firmware but it says "Your computer has the wrong model information." Nothing seems to go right for me.

My apologies, that firmware must only work with the Sony's.

You will need to select your language and OS but that firmware should work.
Aside from that, have you attempted to copy all the data from the CD/DVD to your computer and install from there?

Give this a try with Oblivion.
Go to folder C:/Program Files/Common Files and rename Installshield folder to"InstallShield", and run the installation again.
It has worked in many cases with Oblivion, and may also fix your other games.
