Exp. Issue

I bought an expansion for The Sims 2, but when I try to install it it says "You must have The Sims 2 installed on your computer" which I do. I'm assuming it's because I installed The Sims 2 on my D: drive, which C: is the default drive for my computer.

Is there a way to get it to acknowledge that The Sims 2 is installed on my D: drive?

If I need to install The Sims 2 on my C: drive, can someone tell me how to uninstall it? Going to Add/Remove Programs doesn't work for uninstalling The Sims 2, and going into The Sims 2 folder and clicking the uninstall doesn't work either. Is there a program that'll do that?

When you installed the expansion for the Sims 2, did you install it into the exact same directory as the base game?
If you could let me know the directories of the two games (where you installed them) that would be great.

Cheers.

No, I'm saying it won't let me. I have The Sims 2 installed under D:/Programs. When I put in The Sims 2:Nightlife (the expansion I'm trying to install) it automatically detects whether or not The Sims 2 is installed, and it's saying it isn't. C: drive is my computer's "main" or default drive, but I installed The Sims 2 on my D: drive because I have more room there.
