Hi guys.
I just bought Condemned a few days ago and something strange happens every once and a while. When I'm playing the game will sometimes lock up and restart my computer with out any warning first. Before it rebooted Windows I took a look at the BIOS temps and the CPU was only running about 41C (Amd anthlon 64 FX-55). When I did boot back up it a message popped up saying that I recovered from a serious error, it was something to do with the /local/temp files. I cleared them all out and checked my temperatures again and restarted condemned and it crashed again about a hour and a half later but this time no warning at all when I boot back up. Thats really strange though because I was just playing Splinter Cell Double agent all day yesterday with no problems at all (running about 44C peak). So I'm thinking its more of a software error. I do have the motherboard set up to shut down when the chip reaches 60C but I have never seen it go over 48C even on the most intensive games. I'm pretty stumped. Do you guys know if it might be the game or something else is going on? Thanks -Scott -Edit: I should say that this has only happened twice so far. And I should say that the computer was just rebuilt a week ago with the new Mobo, processor, and graphics card. Harddrives and powersupply (420 Watt) are the same. Sorry I forgot to repost.
I found what was the problem. I tracked it down and found the Mini122906-02.dmp file was conflicting with the system. So I emptied the entire /windows/minidump folder, cleared the /locals/temp again, rebooted, and restarted the game and no more crashing! =D I appreciate the response anyways. =] |
