The Sims 2 Error

My laptop has an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 512MB HyperMemory Graphics card. When I quit playing The Sims 2, one of the ATI files crashes my computer. The card is up to date and everything. Other than crashing on exit, the game plays perfectly on my laptop. Any solutions?

Done, and still getting the error. My system specs:

IntelCore Duo processor T2300 (1.66 GHz)
ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 512MB HyperMemory
120GB HDD
2GB DDR2

It's weird as hell. I mean, I can play the game flawlessly, it's just when I turn the game off that it crashes. I believe the exact file that crashes is atiduag2.dll

-Try playing the game in windows mode rather than full screen.

-Use the Windows Task Manager (Process Tab) to close the game instead of quiting normally.

How do I get the game into a Windowed mode? I don't recall seeing the option for that anywhere in the game.

Re-install the drivers for the card.

Does this happen for all games or just the sims?

Only happens with The Sims 2, and I play Oblivion regularly on my laptop.

Nope, no expansions. And re-installing it doesn't work. I've actually re-installed it about 10 times, and am currently installing it again. I'm gonna try running it in a window.

Ok, running The Sims 2 windowed helped a bit, but not completely. It fixed the Graphics error, but now I get the error that there was a Paged Fault in a Non-Paged Area.

Any idea what the heck that means? Happy to say that it fixed the other error though.

^read that.

From what I can deduce, it is a RAM error. Is your RAM FULLY compatible with your processor and chipset? Make sure you have no background programs running and all the system processes are running correctly.

Have you had any problems with your HDD recently?

Ok, I fixed it.

I fixed the Paged Fault error by saving my game on exit (when you quit The Sims 2 it asks you if you want to save. If I say yes, it doesn't Page Fault, saying No causes the Page Fault).

I fixed the ati3duag.dll error by running the game in a window.

Thanks all for your help. I really love the Sims games and am glad I can play #2 now.
