Call of Duty 2 crashing
So, when I'm on the computer, I am usually doing tons of things, even while gaming (oh my!). I have noticed some of the times that I minimized Call of Duty 2 to go to teamspeak or firefox, the game might crash, and I get a little window saying something to the effect of "Call of Duty has run into an error while playing", but not giving any error codes or whatnot. I have the most recent drivers (at least the most recent as of three days ago) for video, anyone have any suggestions to what I could possibly do?

Even if you have a beastly computer that is capable of doing major multitasking there is a good chance that games will crash when they are minimized then restored, they just don't seem to like it.
For example, if i minimize Oblivion, then restore it without opening any other applications, it crashes. I also have all the latest drivers and the latest patch for the game but this has really very little to do with it, they just don't seem to like being minimized.

Hrm. Well, while there isn't any easy answer there, at least it is good to know that it is not some fault of the computer itself. Btw, while my comp is definately not beastly, I like to think of it as good (AMD x2 3800+, Geforce 7800GT etc). Thanks for the input!

Hi,
Just a note on that. You say you have the latest drivers for your video card, and that you are running an NVIDIA card. It might interest you to know that the latest drivers from NVIDIA have been very buggy, causing a lot of problems. Read "NVIDIA Drivers" in my signature for more info. That said, I entirely agree with Tiber Septim about minimising games - with today's games, it's a very big "no no".

Oh, no thank you though, I really appreciate it. I must just come to terms with the reality that computers cannot do everything I want them to. So, I must instead now work on getting dual monitors to fix this problem rather than fix my habits, haha.

since im getting back on topic here i want to state that the error might be logged in the Event Viewer.
If you go into the Event Viewer scroll through the errors and see any related to Call of Duty or look at the times and dates when it might have crashed. you can open event viewer by going to the control panel then click administrative tools then going into the vent viewer. if you do find the error post it and maybe i can identify some more in depth information.
